My name is Amanya Paige and I am a fourth-year double major in strategic communicaiton and sociology, with a minor in leadership studies. I am originally from the D.C. Metro area and moving miles away to The Ohio State University has been one of the best decisions I have made. After graduation, I will be working full-time as a human resources professional while pursing my master’s in business administration. Ultilmately, I aspire to work in employee relations and investigations. My involvements at Ohio State have shaped me into the leader I am today. As a Morrill Distinction Scholar, co-founder of the Undergraduate Black Caucus, Buckeye Leadership Fellow and member of the 116th class of SPHINX, I have felt like THE Ohio State has become my second home.

Despite my plethora of involvements on campus, my proudest endeavor is being a member and first vice president of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated - Epsilon Chapter. Being a member of this sorority has reinvigorated my passion for public service, especially for the Black community. It has been an honor to be around Black women with similar drive and passion to advance our community. Being a part of this sorority has strengthened my leadership aptitude, sparked creativity in service and introduced the strong bond of sisterhood in my life.

Epsilon Chapter is invested in the greater Columbus community through our five programmatic thrusts: economic development; educational development; international awareness and involvement; political awareness and involvement; and physical and mental health. Our chapter holistically serves the community and our impact soars beyond the bounds of Columbus. The Honorable Marcia L. Fudge, secretary of housing and urban development, was initiated into Epsilon Chapter in 1972 and is just one example of how the women of this sorority impact of our community.

Therefore, I am using my platform to fundraise for Epsilon Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. The funds raised will be utilized toward programming to help advance the professional development of its members and service to the Black community. I am grateful for the opportunity to raise funds for this organization through Homecoming Court. It is an honor to be a Buckeye and I can't wait to see the impact of your donation on the Columbus community. To learn more about Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, please click here.
