My name is Shrishti Shrivastava and I am originally from Lewis Center, Ohio. Coming to Ohio State has been one of the best decisions I have made, and though it is only 20 minutes away from where I grew up, it truly is a home away from home!

I am involved in myriad initiatives on campus and locally. Since high school, I have been a part of the fight against human trafficking in Ohio, and am part of UNCHAINED, an organization that raises money for a scholarship fund that supports trafficking survivors’ education. In addition to that, I am a part of the Ohio Attorney General’s anti-trafficking coalition, and work with healthcare professionals to develop protocols to help identify trafficking victims in a healthcare setting. I also work with survivors directly at the Grace Haven Foundation, and have conducted research at the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute.

My experience working within the anti-trafficking community has certainly contributed to me leading with compassion. My largest leadership involvement on campus is serving as the president of BuckeyeThon, and I carry my spirit of compassion with me in this role. BuckeyeThon is Ohio’s largest student philanthropy, and fundraises for pediatric cancer and blood disorder patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The funds support psychosocial services, fellowships, and groundbreaking research that is creating a future where every kid can be a Buckeye.

This year, I have decided to raise funds for BuckeyeThon. By donating to my page, you have the opportunity to contribute to my passion of providing trauma-informed care. Your generosity will help develop a hospital environment where kids feel emotionally supported while going through treatment, and will advance research efforts that will one day lead to a cure to cancer.
