The Ohio State University Men’s Soccer Club is a student run organization that provides students with the opportunity to further their soccer careers in a competitive manner without the requirements that apply to a varsity athlete. The team is made up of 30 student athletes, and 3 coaches that volunteer and dedicate their time to the team. The team and its coaching staff push each other to be the best soccer players they can be, while creating bonds and friendships that make us better individuals. The team practices three times a week while in season and have one or more games on the weekends during the fall semester. The team spends lots of time together on and off the field and it truly becomes a family like environment. As a result, the team finished first in their conference during the regular season. The team competes in the Eastern Division of the Men’s Midwest Alliance Soccer Conference and plays teams throughout the state of Ohio. OSUFC went undefeated and finished with a record of 8-2-0 (W-T-L) and were the MASC East Division Champions. During the regular season the team scored 46 goals and only gave up 5. The post season started on October 26 when OSUFC traveled to Westfield, Indiana for the Regional Tournament. OSUFC won its eighth Regional Championship in team history as the Buckeyes defeated Michigan 2-0 in the Regional Final. OSUFC received an automatic bid to play in the National Tournament in Round Rock, Texas in late November.
The earnings from this project will help the team offset the following expenses:
