A big thank you to all who donated to our campaign! This means a lot to all involved in our theatre department and I know they are excited to come back next semester and work on new projects! Again, thank you to all who donated and to everyone who helped spread the word about our campaign!

Hi everyone, I have some great news!
Our campaign deadline has been extended by 7 days, we are thrilled to have more time to raise funds for Founders Theatre. While events, including productions, have been cancelled for the remainder of the semester across all of OSU, you can bet the theatre program will come back strong! The donations made now will help support the shows that so many will see when we come back to campus.
Thank you all for your support and stay safe out there!

When I walked into Founders Auditorium for the first time, I didn’t expect for the butterfly effect that would take place. I did’t expect the friendships, the memories, and the support.
Our theatre isn’t the only place shuttering its doors for the benefit of public health. Many restaurants, schools, and public places are not accessible to us anymore. I’ve been told, that we never really know what we have until its gone.
In theatre I not only have an artistic outlet, but a place to learn and grow. It’s a place where I talk taxes and economics with my friend. It’s where I study in the dressing room that is always for some reason far too warm (like, even with the lights off its like having a space heater). It’s a place that I’ve come to call a 2nd home, and I’m not ashamed to admit to be homesick for.
This past Monday, I came in for work-study. I hammered some staples out of the last pieces of set left over from Back to the Divine Comedy, I made sure to tidy up what I could, I did everything I normally would for my job. I didn’t realize that it would be for the last time in what will probably be a long time.
The lights may be out on Founders, The Renaissance, and Broadway, but there is still a light in the darkness. The ghost light is a tradition formed out of necessity, to ensure that the stage is lit at all times so no one will step too far. But it is also a tradition with a story, to keep the stage lit for the ghosts and spirits of the theatre so that they will have the opportunity to perform and so that they can be guided to safety as well. When I left Founder’s Monday, one of my last duties was to ensure the lights were still on in the wings.
There is always a light, and no matter how dim it may seem, we will always be guided back safely.

“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being,” Oscar Wilde.
Hi all,
Thank you for your continued support-- every little bit counts! We have a very exciting announcement for this week. Joe Fahey, our theater professor, has pledged to donate dollar-for-dollar, through school grants, up to $2,000. Please keep the donations coming! Every dollar counts, and will make an impact on many students' lives.
Stay tuned for our upcoming behind-the-scenes video of the theater, and all other future updates.
Thank you,
The Founders Theater Fundraising Team
