Ohio State Mansfield’s Student Emergency Fund

Although our giving page is no longer active, you can still donate. If you would like to provide any additional support to our project, please do so here.

James is a non-traditional full-time student at Ohio State Mansfield. He also is a husband, a father and a part-time worker. As a commuter student, the up-keep of his car is very important to help him get to class. Without it, James’ education would have been hindered. When his car needed repairs, James sought financial assistance from the Student Emergency Fund to help him pay for this unexpected expense. James was very thankful for the help which allowed him to safely get back to his education and supporting his family.

James is not alone in experiencing financial instability. A survey of 86,000 students by The Hope Center found 56% of students were housing insecure and 17% were homeless within the previous year. With this in mind, our fundraiser seeks to collect money for the Student Emergency Fund to provide aid to students of Ohio State Mansfield in need.

The Student Emergency Fund aims to help students like James with various unexpected financial needs. A student in an emergency can apply for help to fill a financial gap to purchase textbooks or food or to supplement financial aid. Other applicable situations include having a flat tire, trouble with rent, medical emergencies or natural disasters. Each student can be awarded aid once throughout the year. Half of the students who apply are granted funding.

By donating to the Student Emergency Fund, you can make a difference for students. We would like to thank you for your generous heart in helping all college students have an equal chance to succeed in their college careers.
