On behalf of 4-H Camp Piedmont and the thousands of young lives that have been transformed by Camp, we wish to thank you for your support of our Buckeye Funder Campaign!
This special campaign allowed us to generate over $11,100 to help continue to keep our camp viable and continue our mission for future generations of campers. While our public campaign to raise funds has come to an end, please know that the need is still real. The Buckeye Funder platform will continue to be available for donations through the end of August if you or someone you know feels compelled to pay it forward to future generations of campers.
The camp staff, board and educators are very thankful for all that has been done to help keep Camp Piedmont going. 4-H Camp Piedmont is truly a one of a kind camp and we will be forever grateful for your help to keep it going.
There are countless traditions at 4-H Camp Piedmont. Many can vary from county to county and each camp has that one special tradition that must happen each year no matter what. However, there is one tradition that is universal. The tradition of passing on the experience of 4-H Camp from one generation to the next. How many campers can tell you that their parents and their grandparents went to 4-H camp? How many campers will tell you, “When I grow up, I am going to make sure my kids go to 4-H camp!” 4-H Camp Piedmont needs your help now. We need your help to be able to make sure that our youth have a camp to return to next summer. We have 3 days left in this stage of our fundraising campaign. Please, don’t delay and make your donation today.
We thank each and every one of you that has made a donation, helped spread the word and shared our emails and posts. Without you, we would not be this far! Please continue to help us during these final days of the campaign.
There is nothing like watching the transformation of a child when they come to 4-H camp. That opportunity to watch a camper realize that camp is a special place. A place where they can be themselves, let their guard down and understand that acceptance is unconditional. A place where they are recognized for what makes them original and unique. Campers become counselors because they have been through it. They get it, and they want to teach the campers what it is all about. Great leaders can be found at 4-H camp, and they take those leadership skills home with them and continue to utilize them in their daily lives.
Camp skits are one of the foundations of 4-H camp. It encourages youth to step outside their comfort zone, use their imaginations and act silly in front of others. I am sure that every camper has a memory that involves a skit from camp, and every counselor can tell you what their favorite skit has been over the years. Go ahead, ask them, and watch the memory pass over their face before they laugh and start the story with; “Well – there was this one skit . . . “
Thank you so incredibly much for your donations to 4-H Camp Piedmont. In these difficult times we know that your donations are coming from the heart. We appreciate them more than words can ever express. We are slowly and steadily heading towards our goal and we have you to thank for it. Please continue to spread the word about the need for funds to keep the lights on at 4-H Camp Piedmont this week!
Today is June 1st. The day that we normally begin to welcome campers to 4-H Camp Piedmont. The day we start making some of the best memories of summer. Unfortunately, we are not able to do that this year and the camp will remain quiet to keep our youth, our volunteers, and our families safe. As we navigate through these difficult times, we need to remember that the safety of everyone is our first priority. Let's make sure that camp is there to welcome everyone back next summer.
We are so incredibly thankful for your donation! We have had over 40 campers, friends, alumni, and community supporters donate toward our goal!
Let's not lose the momentum though! Keep spreading the word and sharing those posts with others! If everyone that came to camp over the years was able to donate just $5, we would surpass our goal! This week are celebrating camp traditions. Take a moment to reflect on your favorite tradition! Did you hike to Copperhead Rock when you were a camper?
What a great way to end our first week! We are so thankful for the donations that came in and want you to know that your immediate support is providing encouragement for others to join you in our campaign to “Keep the Lights On” at 4-H Camp Piedmont. We want to be sure that our traditions of camp songs, campfire skits, and memories are there for the kids next year and in the future.
We have all acknowledged our sadness as a result of camps being cancelled this summer, but our 4-H’ers have proven to be resilient and encouraging in the midst of this decision. Protecting our 4-H family of youth, volunteers and staff is our number one priority and we know this was the right decision to keep everyone safe during these challenging times.
While we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back next year, your help is needed to sustain camp which will be without 75% of it’s income until next camping season. 4-H Camp Piedmont runs on a very tight budget in order to keep our camp fees down for our campers. Collectively, Ohio 4-H camps will lose roughly $1.1 million dollars in revenue.
Please help us keep the momentum going by sharing the word that “4-H Camp Piedmont Needs Help Now.”
