Racial Justice Seed Grant update
Profs Simone Drake (Dept Chair, African American and African Studies), Kevin Passino (Electrical and Computer Engineering), Katrina Lee (Law), and Hugo Gonzalez (Education) are in the process of writing a grant application to this program for collaborative work in technology for diversity and inclusion training, along with negotiation training, for the Columbus Police Dept.
Antiracist Technology course development team
Prof Passino is working with a team of four undergraduates and one graduate student on the development of a proposed course entitled Antiracist Technology (Sp21). We are currently developing topics on racism, racial justice, biased IT methods (e.g., facial recognition or data analytics), mental health disparities, etc.
