The Turfgrass Management program at Ohio State ATI has graduated 939 students since its inception in 1973 and our primary goal is to continue attracting high-quality, talented individuals to meet the growing labor demands of the turfgrass industry. Fortunately, our program has observed a steady increase in enrollment during the past four years as we currently have 41 actively enrolled turfgrass management students; however, the amount of available scholarship dollars has not experienced the same amount of growth, but we are hoping to change that!
The mission at Ohio State ATI is to “learn by doing” and this hands-on educational philosophy is only possible because of the unique facilities on the Ohio State CFAES Wooster Campus and continued support from our stakeholders. Many of the students enrolling in our program aspire to become golf course superintendents, sports turf managers, equipment technicians, sod producers and business owners. Our program has a tradition of producing hardworking, quality individuals and many of our graduates have reached some of the most prestigious positions within our profession.
The Ohio State ATI Turfgrass Golf Outing is the only fundraising mechanism for generating scholarship dollars for our students. In the past, we have generated between $8,000 to $10,000 for scholarships, which are readily dispersed to deserving incoming and currently enrolled students. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances we are unable to host the golf outing in 2020, but we fully intend to bring it back in 2021. The importance of scholarships for recruiting and retaining talented students cannot be overstated. While we will not be able to duplicate the fun of the golf outing, we still can raise the much-needed scholarship dollars. With your help, we can reach our goal of $10,000 to help support the next generation of turfgrass professionals!

All in one! A mulligan will allow one of the teams to hopefully gain a better score while putting the captain of the other team closer to the dunk tank! More importantly its an incredibly generous donation that we are very grateful for.
