Thank you for supporting The Lantern, Ohio State's award-winning, independent student newspaper. We're only one day away from beating The Michigan Daily! Currently, we're leading them by about $800. Help keep us ahead by telling others about our fundraiser or consider making an additional donation.
Your support is vital for The Lantern to continue its excellence as a laboratory for the next generation of journalists. And your contributions help keep The Lantern independent from Ohio State, meaning the university can't tell us what we can and cannot publish. This allows us to keep in check one of the largest public universities in the United States.
Here's some of our latest coverage that is only possible because we're independent:
Ohio State violated public records law in delayed release of records to Strauss victim
(un)silenced: Journeys through Ohio State’s Title IX process is a four-part series about Title IX at Ohio State. It centers on the voices of students who experienced sexual violence while at the university and their journey through the Title IX process. Part one delves into the reporting process: starting with a brief introduction of the sexual misconduct our sources reported, and a more detailed explanation of what the act of reporting — whether it was to law enforcement, the hospital, the Title IX office or a combination of the three — looked like for them.
Party fouls: Students suspended for gatherings they did not attend
We've just passed the $2,000 treshold! Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported The Lantern's mission of independent student journalism! Your contribution helps us train the next generation of journalists and to hold truth to power.
Please share our fundraising goal and page with anyone who is interested in helping The Lantern continue its legacy at Ohio State.
