The Stitzlein Family Scholarship
As Buckeyes, we support one another. That is the definition of family - being there for the following generations of Ohio State students, especially when they are in need.
None exemplify this idea more than the Stitzlein family; a Buckeye family through and through. Pictured above are: John Leonard, George, John Hieronymus, Maria (Mary), and Adam - five of the children of George and Maria Stitzlein, the original Stitzlein’s who came from Germany in 1846. Members of our family have attended the university from as far back as Ohio State’s formative years. We have seen over 70 Stitzlein family members receive an education at Ohio State, and as our family found their roots in agriculture when they came to this country, so did more than half of these Buckeye graduates who found their roots in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. Whether in agriculture or other important fields, Stitzlein descendants have made lasting contributions to their respective industries. To celebrate our heritage, we have established the Stitzlein Family Scholarship and have already raised 75% of the necessary funds to see this scholarship come to fruition in perpetuity. Additionally, a generous member of the family and graduate of the Ohio State College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), has offered to match new donations to the fund dollar for dollar up to $25,000! Please join us in paying forward to become a part of this legacy - the Buckeye Legacy.
