Dear Classmates,
I am so excited to be reaching out to you today to share that our class has been invited to leave a legacy at the Ohio State College of Medicine as a way to celebrate our milestone reunion.
The Ohio State College of Medicine is getting a new home in the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center (IHSC), in a reimagined and expanded Hamilton Hall. This is where the next generation of Buckeye physicians will be trained. The new facilities will allow Ohio State medical students to continue to be some of the best and brightest – by having flexible classroom spaces, areas for students to focus on self-care and mental health, and access to modern technology needed to be at the forefront of innovation in medical education. Our legacy at The Ohio State College of Medicine will be to name a faculty space in the new building after the Class of 1985. This room will serve as an office and meeting space for faculty members. The activities that will occur in this space will continue to build on the tradition of excellence at the College of Medicine. Our goal is to raise $75,000 in support of this project. I am taking the first step and pledging $3,500 over the next five years to get this started. Will you join me?
Our time at the College of Medicine was the foundation for the rest of our careers. I hope that you will join with your classmates to support this important project. Imagine walking through the halls, a young 1st year medical student and walking past our named space donated by the Class of 1985. Seeing this reminder of the alumni that have gone before you can provide that courage to keep going. It is important for us as alumni to support the College in their new home, and it is exciting to think that the Class of 1985 will be able to physically leave our mark here for generations of Buckeye Physicians to come.
