Dear Classmates,
We are so excited to be reaching out to you today to share that our class has been invited to leave a legacy at the Ohio State College of Medicine as a way to celebrate our milestone reunion.
The Ohio State College of Medicine is getting a new home in the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center (IHSC), in a reimagined and expanded Hamilton Hall. This is where the next generation of Buckeye physicians will be trained. The new facilities will allow Ohio State medical students to continue to be some of the best and brightest. It will have flexible classroom spaces, areas for students to focus on self-care and mental health, and access to modern technology needed to be at the forefront of innovation in medical education. The College is encouraging reunion classes (10, 15, 20, 25 and 50 yr) to “name a space” in the IHSC. As many of you are aware, we have lost two classmates to suicide. We would like to honor the lives of Larry Semersky and Brett Gemlick by naming the mental health counselor’s office. Our goal is to raise $50,000 over the next five years to accomplish this. We have reached out to a group of classmates and have $25,000 pledged so far. Will you join us?
Our time at the College of Medicine was the foundation for the rest of our careers. We are excited to pay it forward and hope that you will join us to support this endeavor. Although Meiling Hall holds a special place in our memories, it is important for us to support the College in its new home. It is exciting to think that the class of 1995 will be able to physically leave our mark here for generations of Buckeye Physicians to come. Please consider helping us reach our goal.
