College of Medicine: Class of 1973 (4-year program)

$116,300 raised toward our $150,000 goal (73%)

Leaving a Legacy from the Class of 1973 (4-year program)

Dear Classmates,

We are so excited to be reaching out to you today to share that our class has been invited to leave a legacy at the Ohio State College of Medicine as a way to celebrate our next milestone reunion.

The Ohio State College of Medicine is getting a new home in the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center (IHSC), in a reimagined and expanded Hamilton Hall. This is where the next generation of Buckeye physicians will be trained. The new facilities will allow Ohio State medical students to continue to be some of the best and brightest – by having flexible classroom spaces, areas for students to focus on self-care and mental health, and access to modern technology needed to be at the forefront of innovation in medical education. I invite you to learn more about the project here.

I ask that you join us in supporting our Class Gift to the IHSC, a beautiful 15-person classroom to be named in honor of our class of 1973. This space will be equipped with top of the line technology. This classroom will be the very space where the next generation of Buckeye physicians will learn from our esteemed faculty. These classrooms will be modern in every way needed for our students to be prepared to practice when they enter the field. Our goal is to raise $150,000 in support of this project. Paul and I have decided to lead the charge for our class and have each pledged $25,000 over the next 5 years. Will you join us?

Our time at the College of Medicine was the foundation for the rest of our careers. We are excited to pay it forward and hope that you will join with your classmates to support this important project. Imagine walking through the halls, a young 1st year medical student and walking past our named space donated by the Class of 1973. Seeing this reminder of the alumni that have gone before you can provide that courage to keep going. It is important for us as alumni to support the College in their new home, and it is exciting to think that the Class of 1973 will be able to physically leave our mark here for generations of Buckeye Physicians to come.

Sincerely,

Anthony Melaragno, '73 MD

Paul Mendelman, '73 MD
