Stories of Resilience
Join us for Stories of Resilience.
When: Thursday, October 13th
Where: Longaberger Alumni House - 2200 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43210.
Time: Doors open at 5:30 PM. Program starts at 6 PM. Reception ends at 7:30 PM.
The program will feature 3 personal stories of resilience. Our speakers will be Harry Miller, Achea Redd, and Donna and Jeff Heck-parents of Dani Leedy and founders of 33 Forever. Participating OSU Department of Psychiatry leaders will include Department Chair, Dr. Luan Phan, and Dr. Justin Baker who is a clinical psychologist and suicide prevention specialist.
There are two levels of tickets available: Patron ($250) and General Admission ($100). There will not be physical tickets, but patrons and attendees will check in with their first and last name upon arrival.
Refreshments will be offered during the reception following the speaking program. Refreshments will include beer, wine, soft drinks and sparkling waters. Food will be a generous selection of appetizers.
Proceeds from the event will support The Ohio State University STAR Program and The Center for Psychiatry and Resilience.
The STAR Program was founded in 2009 and provides education and clinical services to health care professionals, first responders and trauma survivors throughout the community. The Program operates the STAR Trauma Recovery Center that provides clinical services and case management support for victims of crime and trauma.
The Center for Psychiatry and Resilience is bringing together the country's top researchers to address the growing suicide and addiction epidemics by developing innovative treatments that are resilience-based and focus on early intervention. The Center will be community-facing and will collaborate with other centers around the state with a shared goal of building more resilient individuals, families and communities in Ohio and around the world.
