Hello! My name is Jillian Kemper, and I am a current senior studying Operations Management from Columbus, Ohio. I spend my time on campus involved with Fisher Ambassadors, Buckeye Leadership Fellows, and the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association. After graduation, I plan to start my career working in consumer packaged goods supply chain at General Mills. I am extremely passionate about gender diversity in the workplace and making strides towards a more equitable and diverse workplace.
Coming into college, I was naive to the topics of gender diversity and female empowerment. After joining the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association (UBWA) in my first year of college, I became aware of the crucial need for activism in this space. My passion for this movement only grew as I moved into leadership roles within the organization, enrolled into Women’s Gender Studies classes, and cycled through various books written by some of the most influential women. As I have grown in this topic, my interest has only grown from not just equity in the workplace but identifying other spaces where women are misrepresented, specifically healthcare.
Throughout my collegiate career, I have had the opportunity to participate in this activism through launching UBWA’s first business bootcamp for women in Fisher, host a virtual national conference for the BIG10 Women in Business programs, and serve in various leadership roles helping to set the pace and mission. Within all of these experiences, Ohio State has exposed me to an area that I will continue to advocate for even as I leave the university. For all of these reasons, I have chosen the Critical Difference for Women Research on Women Fund. I am excited to continue to use my voice for further strides in research around women including policy, performances, and community-based programs surrounding gender equality. Thank you for visiting my page, and I hope you consider making a contribution towards this important cause!
