The American Welding Society Student Chapter at The Ohio State University works hard to provide opportunities for students to gain experience outside the classroom in industry. FABTECH is the largest annual trade show convention for metal forming, fabrication, welding, and finishing. Attending FABTECH is one of the largest opportunities for our students to network and meet other engineers in industry. This year, FABTECH takes place in November 16-18 in Las Vegas.
Being college students working to pay for school does not make it easy for many of our students to bear the cost of attending the largest convention. For many of our students, FABTECH would be the first real-world industrial experience outside of the classroom. Many of our professors believe that this is a great experience for the students. Many of our professors attend the show and give talks. During the show all the AWS members have lunch with the Welding Engineering Alumni Association. This gives our group members the opportunity to meet and network with welding engineers that are currently in industry.
Your contributions will go towards students’ lodging for the whole trip. We would like to help send as many students go to FABTECH cost free! If we are able to raise enough to cover every students lodging, any extra amount of money will go towards the students' travel cost.
For the Ohio State alumni donors, any donation made towards this fundraiser can count towards the alumni association membership requirement ($75 is the minimum donation to be part of the alumni association).
Help pay for ONE student's lodging during FABTECH and make new connections and build a network for the future.
Will help TEN students pay for their plane tickets to FABTECH or help TWENTY-FIVE students pay for lodging during FABTECH!
