Our campaign match has expanded!
We are thrilled to share that all gifts made to this scholarship fund through Dec. 31 will be matched 3:1 up to $15,000 now thanks to a generous faculty member.
Let’s say you make a $100 gift. For that, our generous donor will put in $300. If you make a $5 gift, this donor will put in $15. What about a $5,000 gift? That’s right, they’ll put in $15,000! Simple as that! Every gift counts (as long as it’s in before the end of the year) and every gift matters. This is our opportunity to help raise $60,000 (or more) to help endow this scholarship and support first-generation students for generations to come.
Awarded for the first time in 2021, the Ruth Ella Moore Scholarship is given to College of Public Health students who are first-generation or trailblazing in their educational pursuits. Ruth Ella Moore was a lifelong public health practitioner and the first Black American woman to earn a PhD in the natural sciences. She was a trailblazer in her field and thanks to generous donors like you, her spirit lives on with this scholarship.
Don’t wait...this generous match ends on Dec. 31. Help tear down financial barriers that stand in the way of students’ futures in public health by making a gift and tripling your impact today!
Ruth Ella Moore made history at Ohio State in 1933 becoming the first Black American woman to earn a PhD in natural sciences.
College of Public Health currently has 63 undergraduate students who identify as first-generation.
In the fall of 2021, The College of Public Health had 319 newly admitted students.
