The LiFEsports initiative has been using sport “to prepare youth for life and leadership” since 2009. More than 10,000 deserving young people in our community have directly participated in our summer camp and clinic programming. LiFEsports recognizes that youth sports are about much more than playing ball – it’s about giving young people skills they can use both on and off the field. That’s why LiFEsports uses athletics to teach youth valuable life skills. Our activities focus on four critical social skills that will help them grow and mature: Self-control, Effort, Teamwork and Social Responsibility, or S.E.T.S.
This summer, LiFEsports is working to offer summer camp programming in not just one but six different locations: Ohio State’s main campus, the Beatty Community Center, the Linden Community Center, the Adams Community Center, Riverside Elementary (Dublin City schools) and Heyward Middle School (Springfield City Schools). It is clear that LiFEsports programming is even more crucial this summer given the challenges youth and their families have faced over the past few years. We want to be ready to serve them and you play a crucial role in making that happen.
This summer, we play it forward.
The LiFEsports summer camps this year will be about playing it forward. Our camps will teach our youth the life skills they need to move forward from the uncertainty of the past few years with confidence, courage and hope. These moments are not only memories that last a lifetime for our youth, they are also moments that can be key in their development. In order to do that, we need your help.
Will you join us in playing it forward in 2022? Your gift today will help LiFEsports continue to impact our community, one child at a time.
