The Ohio State Crew team is a student-run organization, not sponsored by university athletics. We proudly pay for our own equipment, coaching, travel and lodging – a budget that annually exceeds $130,000. Itʼs no small task, but then again we aren’t your average Buckeyes. Please help us maintain our tradition with a donation today!
Our goal of $5,000 will be used to help fund our trip to the American Collegiate Rowing Association (ACRA) national championship regatta. After not being able to compete at ACRA for the last two years due to COVID-19, we are more ready than ever to race at our championship. The regatta takes place on May 20-22 in Oak Ridge, TN on what many call America's Favorite Rowing Venue. The team will be racing against 60+ other universities with the clear goal of being the first boat across the finish line.
The student-athletes on this team work hard for the opportunity to participate in this sport. Members must individually contribute or fundraise membership dues per year in order to participate. Money should never be the reason someone loses an opportunity to row, and every dollar we raise helps us achieve that! In addition to keeping up with their studies, athletes practice 6 days a week, waking up at 4:30 AM to make it to practice on time. Many of our teammates hold jobs or participate in other extracurricular activities; such as other clubs, fraternities or sororities, multiple club sports teams and more. On most weekends that we are not racing, we are working to help out our community through the Rent-A-Rower program. This is where we do yard work, moving tasks or other heavy lifting for the Columbus community as a fundraiser for our team.
A trip to ACRA for 50 student-athletes plus our coaching staff will have the following expenses:

A power ten is a common coxswain call at certain points in the race to re-focus the rowers and put more distance between us and the competition. Alright, lets see it.. ready and POWER TEN!
Located 28 miles away from the Dam, the Oak Ridge Rowing Venue boasts a 7 lane wide and 2,000 meter spring race course. Consider helping us as we sit ready at that start line!
In 1978 this team was formed to give college-age men and women the opportunity to learn and compete in the sport of rowing at a club level. In honor of the 44th year of Ohio State Crew, consider donating today!
In order to get our team there, teammates who are certified drivers through the university will be driving our cars full of rowers to Oak Ridge. Donate here to sponsor one of our driver's gas money!
In the last 250m of a 2,000m race, this is the time a rower needs to empty the tank and give everything they have left. Help us pull ahead in the final sprint!
The team will be traveling 710 miles round trip on their drive to the national championship regatta. This level is a contribution of a dollar for each mile on the road trip to ACRA.
The last 250 is where the team gives everything they have left, but the first 1,750 is where the best crews demonstrate their skills and endurance. Help us get our blades in the water as we push to show off our skills.
