Event Details
When our community comes together to address issues, good things happen! With the support of friends like you, Cultivating a Cure has raised over $900,000 in the past 11 years to support cancer treatment and prevention research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC - James).
The 12th annual Cultivating a Cure event will be held Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, at The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) Waterman Agricultural and Natural Resources Laboratory in Columbus, Ohio. Our hope is that you and your family will join us for this unique Ohio agricultural leadership event to help build and strengthen the relationships that are the foundation of addressing issues and challenges facing our industry such as finding a cure for cancer.
Cultivating a Cure
Cultivating a Cure was founded in 2011 by Brent Porteus and his daughters, Amy and Beth, following the passing of his wife and their mother, Debbie, from metastatic breast cancer. The Porteus family’s desire is to support their passion for cancer research and prevention while remembering Debbie and all of those among our families who are currently fighting and have battled cancer. Cultivating a Cure also recognizes the value that is found when members of the agricultural community forge and develop their relationships and come together to accomplish so much—not only for this fundraising effort, but also for the purpose of addressing important issues facing the industry.
