My name is Anjali Tewari and I am a fifth-year chemical engineering student at The Ohio State University graduating in December 2022. As a student leader, and with support from the College of Engineering as well as the William G. Lowrie Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (CBE), I am building a network that brings our Buckeye community together. Generous donations from alumni, family, and friends have already helped bring our ideas to fruition, and your support gives us the opportunity to expand our project ideas.

My extracurricular involvements span from The American Institute of Chemical Engineers, College of Engineering Hometown Ambassadors Program, OCHEM Peer Mentorship program, Departmental Wellness Committee, among others. Perhaps one of my greatest accomplishments during my time at Ohio State has been leading women empowerment events for my department as well as for the College of Engineering.

Over the past few years, I have worked closely with a faculty advisor to develop a safe space for facilitating discussions for students, faculty, and staff surrounding topics such as imposter syndrome and advocacy. We have hosted several faculty and alumni speakers through guest speaker series events and a panel event. As an evolving program, we are committed to equipping our Ohio State leaders with the skills to confidently advocate for themselves and others. Recently, we have been planning for a symposium event which will be a partnership between our initiative, the College of Engineering, the Department of CBE, and the Buckeye Executive Women in Executive Leadership (BEWEL) alumni network.

Positive feedback from these events proves that our mission is more important than ever. And many of our attendees have shared that through these events, they have gained a new perspective and had the opportunity to expand their network. It is because of these reasons and my desire to truly make a difference within our Ohio State community that I hope that you will consider supporting our cause by making a donation to the “Better Together” fund through my Homecoming Court page. I am confident, especially as someone who has previously directed the usage of this fund and related funds, that your generous donations will help us to continue promoting women empowerment in STEM for many years to come. On behalf of the College of Engineering and the William G. Lowrie Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, thank you for supporting our shared mission.
