Happy Homecoming!

September 30, 2022

2022 marks the 110th year of the celebration of Homecoming at Ohio State! Whether you are heading back to campus or celebrating from elsewhere around the globe, we hope you are feeling the Buckeye spirit! The theme of Friday's parade and the weekend will be focused on commemorating 100 years of Ohio Stadium. If you are on campus please feel free to stop by Thompson Library to visit the magnificent Lego stadium in-person. Should you find yourself near the Oval on Saturday, in addition to the Lego stadium, there will be a tailgate outside of the exhibit where you can take some photos with a historical image of the stadium, sit on Woody's couch, and enjoy a snack on your way to the Homecoming football game!

Supporting University Archives preserves the Buckeye legacy for future generations.

Heart Research and the LEGO Stadium

August 10, 2022

Dr. Paul Janssen’s inquisitiveness has been central to his life’s work researching how the heart functions. That same curiosity has been the driving force behind his hobby, one that now helps further research at the Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute. Janssen, PhD, is an avid LEGO fan who is part of the human heart research program at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Proceeds go towards funding research on live human heart tissue from hearts that have been donated. These hearts can be kept beating for up to five days, and the collaborative nature of the research labs examining a single human heart can help scientists make better correlations about different parts of the heart and how they function together. Those kinds of discoveries can lead to breakthroughs in preventing and treating arrhythmia, cardiac disease, heart failure, and more.
