Reading for All

Mirrors, Windows, and Sliding Glass Doors was written in 1990 by Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop, and she explains how all children need mirrors, windows, and sliding glass doors.

Windows can allow children to see into worlds they have never seen, experienced, or thought of before.

Sliding Glass Doors allow children to step into these worlds, becoming a part of them through reading.

Mirrors allow children to see themselves being reflected in the stories they are reading.

The Education Club at Lima's mission is to impact as many children's lives as possible by donating books to our local community of Lima, Ohio. Literature can be the most impactful aspect of a child’s life. Reading leads to personal growth as well as aids in academic achievement. When making a gift towards our goal of $1,000, you are helping the impact go further.
