Counselor Education - Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) Honors Society

Although our giving page is no longer active, you can still donate. If you would like to provide any additional support, please make a gift here.

Hey everyone! We are raising funds for Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), Ohio State’s Counseling Honors Society.

These funds will be utilized for academic recognition, social justice work in the commuThree students holding their Honor Society certificatesnity, social events for members and networking opportunities. One of CSI's major expenses is our annual Spring Banquet. This event, held in the Ohio Union on Thursday, May 4th, celebrates the successes of graduating students and welcomes new Chi Sigma Iota members into the organization. It is also an opportunity for our loved ones to interact with the community of peers and faculty who have been incredibly important to us throughout this program.

Since the Spring Banquet is so meaningful to us, we believe we must strive to reduce financial barriers for all attendees. Our academic program has a strong social justice orientation, which undergirds the mission and vision of Chi Sigma Iota. Our organization covers the ticket price for each CSI inductee; however, we are currently unable to cover the ticket price for inductees' guests. We recognize that it may not be affordable for all our students' loved ones to attend and have been working to minimize the financial burden of the event without sacrificing the quality of the academic recognition. For this reason, we are humbly asking for donations to offset costs of event tickets for guests, certificates and graduation cords.

Additional funds would also allow us to partner further with Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ) in future years. Partnering with CSJ will allow CSI to fulfill the two main pillars of the Counselor Education program that Ohio State is built upon, Social Justice and being culturally competent counselors. With our current funding, we have gathered resources like canned food, hygiene products and supplies for a local school. Future cohorts of CSI would love to continue these types of initiatives on a larger scale and having additional funds would allow us to broaden our reach.

Chi Sigma Iota appreciates your consideration in making a gift to support our Buckeye Funder campaign!

$30

General Donation

Donate $30 dollars to cover the entire ticket price for one guest of a CSI inductee at the Spring Banquet. One of our major goals is to make this end-of-the-year celebration accessible and affordable for students' loved ones! ** Price is based upon last year's cost of attendance. Note: Our organization covers the ticket price for each CSI inductee. Donations will be applied to lower the cost of attendance for guests of new and graduating students. Please note this donation selection is not a personal ticket to the event. If you are a friend or family member donating, you will still need to purchase a ticket for attendance (ideally at a significantly reduced amount!)
