The Hardin County 4-H Chicago Cultural Exploration Trip is an experiential learning tour that will expose rural 4-H members and their families to life in one of our country's biggest urban centers. Participants will have the opportunity to explore many of Chicago's famous sites while being immersed in culture and experiential learning. Your support of this trip will help youth experience new cultures and be exposed to new career fields.
Highlights of the trip include:
The goal of this trip is to provide youth and their families an introduction to the urban way of life while enjoying cultural and historical experiences. Every donation will help offset the cost of this experience for 4-H youth and their families.
Lou Malnati and his wife opened their first pizzeria 52 years ago in 1971. We'll enjoy sampling this famous Chicago style pizza at one of their many locations.
Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, turns 109 years old this year. We will enjoy an afternoon of America's favorite pastime with a Wrigley VIP experience.
Chicago's famous Lincoln Park Zoo is home to 205 unique species! We will have the opportunity to visit and learn about North America's 4th oldest zoo.
Chicago ranks 2nd in number of skyscrapers in the USA with 126. We'll view the city from the 360 degree and Tilt experience in the John Hancock Building.
The out of pocket cost for each participant on the trip is $500. The remainder of the trip expenses are being covered through donations, grant funding and special project funding.
