College of Medicine: Class of 1988

$4,000 raised toward our $50,000 goal (6%)

Leaving a Legacy from the Class of 1988

Hey class of ’88,

As you may know, a new medical school is being built. The funding is coming from a variety of sources and alumni donations are an important part of those sources. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to contribute to the building process and help in the development of future physicians. I am not a fundraiser by nature, and I believe that giving is personal. That being said, we have an opportunity for the Class of 1988 to leave a lasting legacy at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

For some perspective, we have about 200 people in our graduating class. So, for example, our goal of $50,000 would mean an average of $250 from each person. These gifts can be given over the course of up to 5 years. In other words, if each of us gave up one dinner per year at a nice restaurant over the next 5 years, we would be able to make a very nice contribution. I would like to start the pledges by giving $2,500.

Giving is not the purpose of the reunion, it's about seeing each other after 35 years… but they won’t build another med school in our lifetime. Please consider this unique opportunity to leave our legacy at an institution that made such an impact on our lives.

Thanks,

Joe Ritchie
