My name is Mario Slogar and I am a senior Finance major with a minor in Political Science from Cleveland, OH. Throughout my time at Ohio State, I became involved in Buckeye Professional Advancement and Development, the Student-Alumni Council and serve as a Presidential Host for the Ohio State president. Additionally, I was awarded the Fisher College of Business Pace Setters award where I was recognized as the top 1% of the business school. These experiences have all culminated around my admittance into the Honors Cohort Program in the Fisher College of Business. As a proud member of the 26th Honors Cohort, I am excited to share more about my experiences to raise funds that will propel this program forward in its mission to provide an unapparelled undergraduate academic experience.

The Honors Cohort Program is a two-year academic program focused on leadership, service, interpersonal skills and critical thinking that is completed through experiential learning. Each semester, I have seminar classes with a cohort of students from diverse backgrounds that encourage thought-provoking discussions on our personal and professional lives. We are immersed in business trips such as traveling to Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco to talk to C-suite executives which helps us expand our networks in different industries. In December, I will be joining my cohort on a trip to São Paolo and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil where I will be participating in a case competition with an international business. Additionally, through the program, I worked on a year-long service project where my team planned and hosted a sustainability event called “The Earth Day” at Ohio State, helping clean up 440 pounds of trash along the Olentangy River.

Not only does the Cohort Program offer many growth opportunities to its students, but it also creates an environment that is inclusive and uplifting which truly made my Ohio State experience a memorable one. The program would not be able to foster this welcoming culture without donations from its alumni and supporters. I encourage you to learn more about the program and consider how your support can propel the program to truly create the most intimate, tailored and holistic approach to developing tomorrow’s leaders from the Fisher College of Business.
