My name is Catherine Tollefson from Centerville, Ohio, and I am a fourth-year majoring in Finance and Spanish. I am involved in many organizations that have helped shape my time here at Ohio State. I am a member of Student-Alumni Council, the Ohio Union Activities Board and I am a University Ambassador. All of these groups have a common thread of being dedicated to students past, present and future. These organizations have shaped my time as an undergrad but have also fostered a love for Ohio State and the many traditions that are an integral part of the school.

One organization my involvements work in tandem with is Ohio Staters Inc., one of the oldest student organizations on campus, founded in 1933. Over the past 90 years, Ohio Staters have paved the way for many student traditions such as Light up the Lake, Sibs and Kids’ Weekend and Orton bell tower tours. Ohio Staters Inc. has a mission to be the thinkers, believers and doers in and about The Ohio State Campus by enhancing the university through projects that promote both student welfare and the traditions of Ohio State. The traditions and spirit of Ohio State do not end after graduation. The friendships, excitement and lessons learned here are made to withstand any summer’s heat or winter's cold. To continue the mission of Ohio Staters Inc. after graduation, the Alumni Society was formed in 2002. The organization consists of former members and faculty who wish to continue serving the university; the club also helps reunite former members and friends who have lost touch since attending Ohio State. Please join me in supporting The Ohio Staters, Inc. Alumni Society which allows past students to continue serving the university as well as truly show how firm thy friendship.
