Make a gift to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Research at The James in memory of Dottie

Dorothy “Dottie” Kaufman Davda, 78, of Columbus, OH peacefully passed away on July 10, 2023 after a 10 year battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Dottie was born on October 21, 1944 in Louisville, KY as the only child to Henry and Dorothy Kaufman. After Dottie graduated from Seneca High School, she went on to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Kentucky.

After marrying Jagdish “Josh” Davda, the couple relocated to Rochester, NY where both of their children, Gregory and Sara, were born. Later they relocated to Columbus, OH where Dottie would live for the balance of her life.

Dottie was a stay-at-home mom and dedicated herself to her family, including volunteering at her children’s school as well as assuming the role of Troop Leader for her daughter’s Girl Scout troop. Building upon her passion for cooking, Dottie also taught cooking classes through Worthington Parks & Recreation. Later in life Dottie worked for the International Visitors Council.

Dottie loved travelling throughout her life - from spending summers in Yellowstone Park to seeing the pyramids of Egypt. But what brought her the most joy was cooking and baking for those she loved. Her recipes will forever carry on her spirit each time they are enjoyed in years to come.
