Proceeds from Harvest of Hope 2023 will benefit Ohio State’s new Department of Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (MMT), a basic biomedical science department that takes a multidisciplinary approach to improving the pace of discoveries in the OSUCCC – James’ planned growth areas, which include:

• Foundational therapeutics (designing, developing and validating new treatments) 
• Tissue engineering (developing new engineered models to study and treat human diseases)
• Molecular medicine (to link the new drugs and models to clinical samples and trials to improve the pace of translational research)

MMT research will help scientists and physicians more fully understand normal body functions and disease processes so they can devise better ways to diagnose, treat and prevent cancer and other diseases.
