The 7th Columbus Mac & Cheese Festival took place Friday October 4, 2024 to benefit the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) cancer program at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James). This year, with your support, we raised over $80,000!
Cancer is the fourth-leading cause of death for young adults, ages 15-39 according to the American Cancer Society. While cancer rates in most groups have fallen, incidence rates in young adults have risen since 2015 and survival rates have remained static for decades. Major life milestones that commonly occur at this age, like finishing college, starting a career or family planning, can feel impossible when cancer enters the mix.
To date, the Mac & Cheese Festival has raised over $490,000. These funds have supported targeted research studies, vital and encouraging survivorship programming and enhanced spaces for AYA patients at the OSUCCC – James. The need for cancer research still exists, and we invite you to continue your support of the Columbus Mac and Cheese Festival.
