Join me in providing students access to Ohio State's alternative break program, Buck-I-SERV.

Buck-I-SERV is the largest alternative break program in the country, with a selection of service trips addressing all forms of social justice topics. Student groups travel together over the university holidays to engage in service learning and travel, and all expenses throughout the trip duration are covered by the trip fee.

Buck-I-SERV's student access fund seeks to provide monetary support to ANY Ohio State student who has indicated they need financial assistance for their chosen alternative break trip. The hope is that this fund will make these service trips more accessible for all prospective students and that all students, regardless of socioeconomic status, can receive funding support.

As a freshman at Ohio State, I met some of my best friends at the university through Buck-I-SERV trips and have been given the opportunity to conduct meaningful service. Whether it was cleaning up invasive species on Floridian beaches, serving meals and providing conversation to men experiencing homelessness in D.C., cleaning horse stalls and grooming horses without homes in Mccoy, Colorado, or helping masons in Antigua, Guatemala build a permanent family home, I have never had a Buck-I-SERV experience that didn't impact my worldview and beliefs. These trips are so much more than simply service—as they are also a way to connect to Ohio State's campus, fellow undergraduates, and to the broader world around us. Please, consider donating to give as many students the opportunity to grow, learn, and make meaning through service!
