Join me in providing underserved families the accessible healthcare they need and deserve.

Hi! My name is Antonette Lackey and I am a senior at the Ohio State University from Massillon, Ohio. I am currently pursuing a degree in Nursing with a certification in Primary Care. Throughout my time at The Ohio State University, I have been fortunate enough to participate in many programs and organizations, including Health Sciences Scholars, the Black Student Association, Nursing Students of Color and the Sphinx Senior Honorary. When I graduate from Ohio State, I plan on staying in Columbus and starting my career as a pediatric nurse at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Healthcare disparities have always been a topic that I not only am passionate about, but have also faced first-hand. As an African-American woman who is from a family of 18 children, I have encountered challenges in accessing adequate healthcare. Furthermore, in my time as a Patient Care Assistant at Nationwide Children's, I have seen countless patients who were denied access to essential care based on various disparities in the healthcare system. Due to this, I have made it a goal to work towards a society where everyone has access to the proper healthcare they need. Both my personal and professional experiences have led me to use my platform on the Homecoming Court to raise dollars for Ohio State's Total Health and Wellness Fund. This organization is a clinic focused on providing support to underserved patient populations in Columbus. Your support will help countless underserved families across Columbus have the accessible healthcare they need and deserve.
