Join me in supporting the activities of the Integrated Business and Engineering Honors Program.

My name is Arpita Patel, and I am a fourth-year student majoring in Finance and Management Information Systems with minors in Engineering Sciences and Financial Planning. Throughout my time at Ohio State, I’ve had the privilege of engaging with many incredible student organizations, including Scarlet and Gray Financial, Buckeye Undergraduate Consulting Club, Delta Sigma Pi and Fisher Cares. Each of these experiences has shaped me both personally and professionally, but none have had as profound an impact as the Integrated Business and Engineering (IBE) Honors Program, which I’ve been a part of since my very first day on campus. As a proud member of the 9th IBE Honors Cohort, I am excited to share more about my experiences to raise funds that will further advance the next generation of interdisciplinary leaders.

The Integrated Business and Engineering Honors Program is an enriching four-year academic program offered jointly through Ohio State University’s College of Engineering and Fisher College of Business. It brings together business and engineering students to tackle real-world challenges through multidisciplinary coursework, hands-on projects and guidance from industry leaders. Over the last four years, this program has given me the chance to collaborate with students from diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique perspectives to every project and discussion. This environment empowered all of us to think differently and solve complex business and engineering problems with innovative solutions in order to positively impact the communities around us. Beyond classroom projects, the program has also been pivotal in my professional development and given me opportunities that would not have been possible otherwise including events like case competitions, international consulting trips and site visits to companies–one of which directly led to my post-graduation career. Most importantly, IBE has provided me with an incredible community from the moment I stepped on campus. Over the years, this community has only grown stronger, filled with people who have become not just my peers, but my closest friends and mentors. The guidance I’ve received has been invaluable, and in turn, I’ve had the privilege of giving back by mentoring underclassmen. Specifically, serving as Student President of the program last year was an especially rewarding experience, allowing me to bring together students through social and service events, creating a close-knit, supportive environment where we all learned from one another. Over the past few years, I have watched the program grow, not only in size, but also in the breadth of opportunities offered to students–none of which would have been made possible without the generous support that has been poured into the program!

Thank you for taking the time to learn about my experience in the Integrated Business and Engineering Honors Program! I’m incredibly grateful to the generous faculty, alumni, students and donors who have dedicated their time and support to the growth of this program. Your consideration of a donation means so much to me, as this program has truly shaped my Ohio State experience and will continue to do so for generations of students to come!
