As someone who has been inspired by the strong female role models I’ve been fortunate to have in my life, I have always believed in the power of women uplifting one another. Growing up, I watched these women navigate challenges with resilience and grace, which instilled in me a deep appreciation for women’s rights and the importance of gender equity. My passion for supporting women in business began during my time in the undergraduate Women in Business (WIB), where I served in various roles, including Senior Vice President. In that capacity, I had the privilege of helping freshmen kickstart their professional journeys by guiding them through resume writing, networking and interview preparation in addition to providing them opportunities to connect with female executives from various companies. I knew I had to give back to the organization after realizing just how much it has shaped me. WIB didn’t just help me grow professionally; it shaped me personally, teaching me the value of sisterhood, community and giving back.
Now, as I look toward the next chapter of my journey, I would love to give back and support the Fisher Graduate Women in Business (FGWIB), to continue the legacy of WIB and further support the development of women in this industry. I know firsthand the impact that organizations like WIB and FGWIB can have on women striving to break glass ceilings. Many women face obstacles in their careers, whether due to financial constraints or family responsibilities, and it’s crucial that they have the support to continue their education and professional growth. Raising funds for FGWIB is my way of ensuring that more women can access the opportunities, resources and community that have been so pivotal in my own development. I believe that by fostering a strong network of students committed to empowering women, we not only advance gender equity in business but also create lasting change that benefits everyone.
