With PODEMOS, we strive to increase access to healthcare in drastically underserved communities. Started in 2008, we organize medical brigades to the community of El Progreso, Honduras twice a year. These brigades include both medical and pharmacy students, led by our dedicated physician providers and partnered with in-country Honduran healthcare staff. We offer free healthcare evaluations and medications to the residents of this community. For many of the patients we serve, these brigades are the only healthcare they have access to, and consistency is key to combatting the high rates of malnutrition, poverty, and poor healthcare infrastructure. Our program has grown over the years, with over 500 patients served each trip in recent years.
With this increased patient load, costs of our brigades have also grown. We rely on the generosity of our supporters to help us fund the medications and diagnostic/acute care tools we need to provide effective care during our brigades. Please consider donating to our cause today and contribute to making a lasting difference for the patients we serve.
