Our Crowdfunding Groups
Support our community of Polish Studies students and scholars at Ohio State by making a gift to the PSI Grant and Scholarship Campaign. The funds raised will support our annual grant and scholarship competitions that will finance domestic and international study abroad, facilitate internships and research travel for Ohio State students, faculty and postdocs!
Established in 2012, the Polish Studies Initiative (PSI) is housed under the umbrella of the Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES) with sponsorship from partners across The Ohio State University (OSU), including the College of Social Work, CONSIRT, the Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures, the Department of Political Science, the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and the Office of International Affairs. The mission of this donation-based initiative is to advance the interdisciplinary study of Poland, support student and faculty research and study abroad and organize events focused on Poland.
Each academic year, PSI organizes one to two events, such as lectures, film screenings or other cultural events. Additionally, at the annual Midwest Slavic Conference, numerous presentations related to Poland are given. Through an annual scholarship and grant competition, PSI funds undergraduate and graduate students to study the Polish language during the summer or hold internships in Poland, and supports post-doctoral students and faculty with research grants.

Support the PSI Grant and Scholarship Campaign by making a gift of $50. As of 2024, PSI has supported over 50 students, postdocs and faculty members studying or conducting research in Poland!
Support the PSI Grant and Scholarship Campaign by making a gift of $136.40. Founded in 1364 in the city of Kraków, the Jagiellonian University hosts study abroad programs that a number of our PSI alumni have participated in.
Support the PSI Grant and Scholarship Campaign by making a gift of $199.80. 1998 celebrates the founding year of the Slavia Summer Field School. For several years, PSI has supported Ohio State students and scholars studying at the Slavia Field School in Mortuary Archaeology in Giecz.
Support the PSI Grant and Scholarship Campaign by making a gift of $517. Did you know that the city area of Warsaw measures 517 km? PSI has supported study and research by Ohio State students and scholars in Poland's capital since 2012.
