The Ohio State University All Girl Cheer Team is a dedicated and competitive team that represents Ohio State. Our team diligently practices throughout the fall and spring semesters, focusing on enhancing our tumbling and stunting skills. While we participate in various performances and competitions throughout the season, our ultimate goal is to excel at Nationals. NCA College Nationals, held annually in Daytona, Florida, brings together college teams from across the nation, all competing for the title of National Champion. In April, our team will make the journey to Daytona, once again, to showcase our skills and compete on the national stage.
This past season all of our hard work payed off as we travelled back to Columbus with our First Place trophy! We preformed two zero-deduction routines, which resulted in our National Championship Title. Due to the success our team experienced last season, we began expanding our program! This season we have our traditional team, as well as a spirit rally team. With this expansion to our program, we are excited to welcome two new coaches, one of which is filling a completely new role! Although it is exciting to have 41 athletes and 3 coaches within our program this season, we are enduring many new expenses.
Our spirit rally team is being built from the ground up. We started this season with very little resources for the new team, while planning ahead all the way to Nationals. On top of our typical expenses, we have to purchase uniforms, pom poms, flags, and signs for our rally team this season. By investing in our current rally team, you are leaving a long term mark on our program. These props will be used for many seasons to come!
Not only are we now supporting two teams and three coaches, but we have 41 athletes within our program this season! We welcomed 27 rookies this year, causing us to well exceed any number of athletes we have previously had in our program. As we navigate the new expenses and logistics for two teams this season, we are reaching out for your support to help us raise the necessary funds for our program. Throughout a normal season, we incur numerous expenses that would be impossible to cover without the generosity of our supporters. Being a self-funded team, we heavily rely on fundraising efforts and the kindness of donors like you to make our growing aspirations a reality.
Your generous donations will contribute to various aspects of our team, including practice wear, competition uniforms, bows, music fees, NCA camp, choreography costs, competition registrations, Nationals expenses, travel arrangements, hotel accommodations, shuttle rentals, groceries during our time in Florida and even our end-of-season banquet.
We encourage you to consider supporting not only your athlete on our team but also the team as a whole. Every donation, regardless of size, plays a crucial role in our ability to function as a program. We sincerely appreciate each individual donor, recognizing that without your support, our season would not be possible. Whether you have a personal connection to a member of our team through coaching, high school cheering, family ties or if you are one of our valued alumni, your help is invaluable to us.
Thank you for standing behind our 41 hard-working athletes, our three dedicated coaches and the entire Ohio State University All Girl Cheer Program. Your support means the world to us as we aim for success this season and proudly represent The Ohio State University. Go Buckeyes!
We have 27 rookies new to our program this year! These rookies made it possible for us to now have two teams within our program. We are thrilled about the energy and skill they bring to our program, and can't wait to watch them grow this season!
Last season we hit two zero-deduction routines on the mat at Nationals. With the routines, and a score of 95.7222, we were able to secure first place. There were 22 teams in our division, including TTUN, all of which we out-performed. This was our first National Championship Title in program history!
Between all of our 41 team members, and including both teams, we currently have 160 flips in our routines combined! This means each of our lady buckeyes are completing approximately 4 flipping passes in each routine we do. As we are only a couple months into our season, this number will only increase from here on out!
Our 42 athletes are cumulatively enrolled in 217 classes this fall semester at Ohio State. Although we pride ourselves on our dedication to the All Girl Cheer program, our athlete's academic success is our priority!
This season we are expanding from 1 team within our program to 2! Although this is an extremely exciting venture for all of us, it comes with many large expenses as well. Props for our Rally team are going to be a big expense we will endure. For example, just one singular flag will cost us $350!
