Professor Herb Asher is a beloved educator, mentor, and advocate for Ohio State Political Science students. Actively inspiring those around him today, his passion for teaching and dedication to his students’ success has shaped countless careers. Professor Asher didn’t just prepare students for the classroom; he championed their futures, guiding them to meaningful internships and careers that launched them into influential roles in government, policy, and beyond.

Herb Asher remains an active supporter of Ohio State's mission, and this initiative reflects his lifelong dedication to student success. To honor his legacy, Ohio State alum Barry Gluck has generously pledged a matching gift to support internship opportunities for Political Science majors. Barry Gluck's generous matching gift honors Herb Asher's ongoing legacy as a living legend in the field of Political Science.
Through this generous support, any donation you make will be DOUBLED with matching funds up to a total $25,000. That means that your donations could help us raise up to $50,000, which will be used to provide critical financial support for students pursuing internships at all levels of government.
Many internships are unpaid, creating barriers for students without financial means. This initiative ensures that all students, regardless of background, can access these transformative experiences, paving the way for a diverse and dynamic future in public service.
