Thank You for Donating to Street Medicine at Ohio State!
About Us
Established in 2023 by a group of OSU medical students, Street Medicine at Ohio State brings critical healthcare services directly to those experiencing homelessness, breaking down barriers to trust and access. Our teams deliver care, distribute essential supplies, and offer medical guidance within familiar environments, fostering trust and bridging the gap in traditional healthcare access.
Our Work in Action
In practice, our organization delivers healthcare to the unhoused population of Columbus via various outreach efforts, where our members and volunteers work alongside physicians. During our biweekly "Treats 4 the Streets" pop-up clinic at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, we address our patients' needs such as wound care, blood pressure management, and diabetes care. Additionally, we conduct weekly street runs to an encampment at Heer Park where we have the opportunity to provide longitudinal care to our patients. Through these efforts, we're able to regularly see 40+ community members and supply essentials such as wound care kits, naloxone, hand sanitizer, gloves, blankets and more. Our members also volunteer for organizations (such as Remote Area Medical) that share our mission of making healthcare more accessible to people experiencing homelessness.

Thank You!
By donating to Street Medicine at Ohio State, you're improving the health of the unhoused population of Columbus while simultaneously fostering the growth of the next generation of healthcare workers. People experiencing homelessness make up an underserved community that faces complex obstacles when accessing medical care, and tearing down these barriers is very important to us; we're very fortunate for your contribution to this objective. Regarding our future plans, we're aiming to expand our clinics, collaborate with the community and partners on a comprehensive needs assessment, and potentially launch a 4th-year medical student elective rotation. This work is only possible with the hard work from our team and the generosity of our donors –– thank you for joining us in this vital mission to make healthcare accessible for all!
