Help the Ohio State Trombone Choir get to the International Trombone Festival in Ontario, Canada!

The Ohio State University Trombone Choir is honored to have been selected to perform at the International Trombone Festival, after submitting a video of our performance audition! The International Trombone Festival is an annual multi-day festival featuring all things trombone, taking place July 16-19th, 2025. The location of ITF moves around the world. Past locations have included Germany, England, Austria, Holland, Finland, Denmark, Brazil, China, France, Spain, and the United States. We are very excited for the 2025 festival to be held in London, Ontario, Canada, the closest it will be to Columbus, Ohio for a long time! 

We are eager to announce that the musical program we are performing at the festival will be featuring all compositions and arrangements done by students in our ensemble! We are proud to be premiering two original works by ensemble members Anthony Frankowski and Nik Henderson.

All funds will be exclusively used to help our students pay for festival registration fees and transportation costs. A donation towards us would be contributing to a rich educational experience for our students. At the festival, our students will encounter esteemed international performers, learn from academic presentations, and undergo countless networking opportunities. We are excited to take our Buckeye Pride to Canada and represent The Ohio State University internationally!

About The Ohio State University Trombone Choir:

The OSU Trombone Choir is an ensemble made up of undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Music at The Ohio State University. Under the direction of Dr. Elisabeth Shafer, the ensemble explores a wide-ranging repertoire, from classical masterworks to contemporary compositions. Known for its rich, resonant sound and musical versatility, the Ohio State University Trombone Choir regularly performs in university concerts, regional festivals, and special events. The ensemble is dedicated to fostering the artistic and community growth of its members while showcasing the power and beauty of the trombone.
