Life's Short, Eat Dessert First
2025 Life's Short, Eat Dessert First
Life is short and that's especially true this year! 18 years ago I received my first breast cancer diagnosis. In late 2024, the unexpected happened when I received a second breast cancer diagnosis. So many advances are being made every day in breast cancer treatment. That is why I am more committed than ever to raise funds to fight this disease and use my own breast cancer experience to advocate and spread awareness to others.

BENEFICIARY: The beneficiary of my event is the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research. Why? Because the Stefanie Spielman Fund is devoted to advancing research in breast cancer and 100% of gifts tied to my event go directly to research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James). Here's a photo of me presenting last year's "big check" to Dr. Margaret Gatti-Mays, my medial oncologist, Dr. Roman Skoracki, Medical Director of the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center and my plastic surgeon, and Steve Kalister, service line administrator at The James. All were speakers at my event last year.
I'm proud to share last year’s event raised an incredible $39,190! The highest yet, bringing the previous 17-year total to over $231,000!
2025 SPEAKER: I’m thrilled to announce my featured speaker this year is Dr. Daniel Stover, medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of breast cancer at the James. Dr Stover is a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program, where his research focuses on integrating tumor genomic profiling with patient characteristics and outcomes to develop new treatments for breast cancer.
Please join me in celebrating 18 years of Life's Short, Eat Dessert First! Together we will help create a cancer-free world! As always, I encourage you to share with others. The more who know, the more dollars raised!
