Join me in preventing heart disease through vital research and innovative treatments.

Hi everyone! My name is Ananya and I am a senior at The Ohio State University, majoring in Neuroscience with minors in Global Public Health, Political Science, and Medical Humanities. During my time at Ohio State, I’ve built various communities centered around a passion for health equity, advocacy, and storytelling. Through Red Saree, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside a group of students and leaders that uplift the South Asian community, by raising awareness about health challenges that disproportionately affect us. One the most important of these is heart disease, the leading cause of death worldwide, claiming upwards of 900,000 lives every year in the United States alone.

But my passion for preventing heart disease lies beyond the numbers. Behind every statistic is a family like mine, forever changed from loss. My grandfather passed away from a heart attack, and I carry the weight of his absence as a fuel for my passion to prevent others from experiencing the same. Heart health isn’t simply about medicine: many forms of heart disease are easily preventable through education, awareness, and early intervention. That’s why I believe it’s so important to support outreach initiatives and research that empower people to take action.

The Heit Heart Fund aligns deeply with that very purpose. By supporting vital research between genetics, exercise, cancer treatments, and heart disease, this fund informs not only innovative treatments, but strategies to prevent the onset of heart disease. Not to mention, this fund gives special attention to how heart disease impacts women, a group that’s often overlooked, yet stuffers some of the most devastating impacts. This research addresses a critical gap in scientific knowledge, seeking to empower mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends whose futures matter.   I invite you to join me in supporting The Heit Heart Fund; to build a future where more hearts keep beating strong.

In loving memory of my grandfather.
