Ever since I was a baby, my family always had cats in our home. The two cats that are with my parents currently are 10-year-old siblings, Piper (gray) and Pita (black). They, along with my (not-pictured) previous three cats, Maggie, Chewbacca, and Deaf Kitty, have all been such integral parts of my 21 years of life. I have grown up alongside all my cats and watched them move through all the stages of life. They have been there for me through all my ups and downs, and I’ve been lucky enough to hold their paws through some of their toughest health moments.
As someone planning a future in human medicine, I’ve learned that the best way to improve a patient’s life is to take care of them outside of the hospital. And who takes care of humans at home better than our beloved pets? With that, I want to provide an opportunity to help get our pets the veterinary care they may need.
Veterinary bills can be extremely expensive, and it is less common for a pet to have health insurance than for a human. After having my furry friends by my side throughout my entire life, and seeing just how much love people have for their pets at home, I want to use this platform as an opportunity to give back to our best friends.
Please join me in supporting the Veterinary Medicine Good Samaritan Care Fund, so that those who may not be able to afford veterinary care for their pets can still have the opportunity to address those treatable conditions. Let’s help our furry friends live happy and healthy lives by getting them the proper veterinary care they need!
