History

Kuhn House was built in 1926 as the university president’s second residence before transitioning to serve as the home for the University Honors and Scholars Center, Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry, and the Undergraduate Fellowship Office. Spaces throughout the house are home to quiet study areas and play host to community events for several student groups.   

Recent Renovations

In 2025, Kuhn House completed a full renovation of its communal kitchen, blending Tudor-style charm with modern functionality. Collaboration and community-building was at the heart of the renovation planning. The kitchen plays host to many events, from cultural exploration through cuisine or de-stressing by baking together. Now, the kitchen once again makes Kuhn House feel like home.

Planned Renovations

Your support will allow Kuhn House to continue evolving. Your gift can help:

• Create a new student-centered collaboration room, transforming the basement into an additional area for meetings, study sessions and student activities.
• Restore the iconic first-floor fireplace, a signature feature once central to Kuhn House's storied Fireside Chats.
• Enable future updates, from refreshing furniture to restoring Tudor-style details throughout the building and enhancing the second-floor classroom.
