Send a MGC singer to Harvard
Send a Men's Glee Club Member to the Intercollegiate Musical Council at Harvard in February
The Men’s Glee Club has been invited to perform at the 2027 National IMC: The Tenor-Bass Choral Consortium. Since its founding in 1915 as the Intercollegiate Musical Council, IMC: The Tenor-Bass Choral Consortium has striven to promote quality tenor-bass chorus singing and music. Its membership is made up of tenor-bass choruses/glee clubs of the nation’s universities, college and secondary schools. Membership is also open to community and professional ensembles, as well as to individuals.
The 2027 conference (February 25–27) will be held on the campus of Harvard University. The Men's Glee Club will be featured on the closing concert — Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
The projected cost for this trip is $36,000. The bulk of this cost is for transportation and food for the singers and conductors. Expenses have been kept to a minimum due to the generosity of members of the Harvard Glee Club who have offered to house the Ohio State singers for the duration of their stay in Cambridge.
Approximate cost per singer for this trip is $550. The School of Music will make a contribution, and we will apply funds from current endowment funds, though these funds are currently somewhat depleted due to our recent Sesquicentennial (150th) celebration in 2025–2026.
REQUEST: Please consider a donation to help a Men's Glee Club member get to Harvard — much like trips our alumni remember from years past to Washington D.C., New York, Chicago and beyond. We are grateful for contributions of any amount.
