Some children don't have the chance to participate in sports. Your support can change that and impact their lives.
The LiFEsports Initiative recognizes that youth sports is about much more than playing ball – it’s about giving young people skills they can use both on and off the field. That’s why LiFEsports uses athletics to teach youth valuable life skills.
Each summer, the LiFEsports Summer Camp serves over 600 young people. Youth have access to daily programming that focuses on four critical social skills: Self-control, Effort, Teamwork, and Social Responsibility, or S.E.T.S. as we call it. These skills are taught not only in the classroom but also on the playing field. Youth have the opportunity to play nine different sports at camp: baseball, basketball, dance, football, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, tennis and volleyball.
In addition to daily programming, youth receive transportation to and from camp from over 15 bus stops across the city. All youth also receive a free breakfast and lunch while at camp!
Since 2008, LiFEsports has served over 43,000 young people. You can ensure this Buckeye tradition continues by helping another 600 kids become members of the Ohio State LiFEsports family this summer!
