LEGO Stadium

Donate $20 or more today to add a LEGO® figure to sit in this replica Ohio Stadium. Your donations directly support lifesaving heart and vascular research at Ohio State.

About LEGO® Ohio Stadium

This replica of Ohio Stadium was created by Ohio State heart and vascular researcher and LEGO® enthusiast, Paul Janssen, PhD. This exhibit has earned him much acclaim for its scale and intricate details. This replica measures 8 feet by 6 feet and comprises more than 1 million LEGO® bricks. This stadium has been displayed at the Columbus Museum of Art and has been featured by news outlets around the country.

Your Donations at Work

Dr. Janssen’s research lab at Ohio State is focused on the study of human hearts, many of which come from patients who have received a heart transplant at Ohio State. Dr. Janssen’s research is one of a kind in the nation, and the donations made to the LEGO® stadium directly fund the Human Heart Program. This program includes 17 research labs at Ohio State dedicated to improving our understanding of heart disease and how to prevent and treat it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I want to donate two or more LEGO® minifigures. How do I specify that?

A: Each donation of $20 will add one minifigure to the stadium. If you’d like to “sit together” with family and friends simply make a gift amounting to the number of LEGO® minifigures you wish to support. For example, a gift of $100 will place five minifigures in the stadium, together.

Q: How do I know which minifigure is mine? Can I customize it?

A: Unfortunately due to time and resource limitations, Dr. Janssen cannot customize minifigures  — these minifigures are chosen randomly and will not be visibly linked to any particular donor.

Q: Will my name or my honoree's name be added to the stadium near my minifigure?

A: We cannot add names to the physical display, but you can choose to add your name to our online donor wall when you make your donation.

Q: What happens when I make a donation in honor of or in memory of someone? Will their name be added to the display?

A: The honoree or memorialized person's name will be listed on our online donor wall. We are not able to add names or other personalized information to the physical display.

Q: When will my minifigure be added to the stadium?

A: We will tally up the donations every week, and then LEGO® architect Dr. Janssen will add the new minifigures at his earliest convenience.

Q. I have a question that's not answered here. Who do I contact?

A: Please contact Rachael Prokop at Rachael.Prokop@osumc.edu or 614-293-5522 with your questions.
