The College of Public Health is hosting our first trip to Washington D.C. We're taking 20 students, and they'll be fully immersed in the world of policy and advocacy. Students will learn about how federal policy affects work in our local communities, and will gain first-hand experience in advocating for the important issues that affect public health. Participating in this trip will help our students be prepared to tackle - from a systemic level - the pressing issues that face our world today, like access to affordable and effective care, drug abuse, infant mortality, and food insecurity.
While in DC we'll visit important sites, meet with representatives and public health leaders, learn how policies are formed, and practice advocating for issues we believe in.
Students who are participating have contributed funds to this trip, but we've kept the fee to a minimal amount, because we don't want cost to inhibit an experience as impactful as this. Supporting our trip will help off-set the cost for our College, and will help us be able to continue this program for years to come.
Your gift will have a lasting impact.
