BUCKS FOR BUNKS!
Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp serves 10 counties for their summer residential camps as well as hosting multiple regional and statewide events. Overall, more than 2,000 4-H’ers take part in our camping program each year. Many outside groups use the facility throughout the year for family reunions, weddings, retreats and more! In the summer, our sleeping facilities can accommodate up to 300 people and 160 in the winter.
As a busy 4-H camping facility, we strive to provide quality programs and services to our clients as well as pledging our “health to better living for our club, community, country and our world.” With the number of people our facility hosts each year, and to continue to offer quality programs which includes a good night’s sleep, there is a need for new bunk beds and mattresses.
We believe by providing a comfortable bed, our clientele will get a better night’s sleep which is important to a person’s overall health. Additionally, by improving our facilities, we hope to expand our reach to additional rental groups which allows us to make other improvements to the facility to make it a place for generations to come.
Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp is also currently in the process of building a new sleeping and conference facility at camp! For this new facility, we hope to be able to sleep an additional 30 people year round. This building is being made possible by a $250,000 grant by the Southern Ohio Agricultural and Community Development Foundation, which will also allow us to make major upgrades to the Harrison Powell Lodge HVAC system. This grant requires a $50,000 match.
The Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp Board needs your help to reach its goal of new mattresses for Harrison Powell Lodge and to purchase beds for the new facility. Your donation will be counted toward our $50,000 match for the new facility.
Help us reach our goal and donate Bucks for Bunks!
